Bob was pleased to host a Henry Jackson Society discussion with Iranian-American democracy and human rights advocate, Mariam Memarsadeghi, Co-Founder & Co-Director of Tavaana: E-Learning Institute for Iranian Civil Society.
The subject of the discussion was "Iran Protests: What is the Responsibility of the Free World?", with both speakers arguing that Governments around the world cannot and should not stay silent and should actively support the Iranian people as they strive for democracy, internet freedom and women's rights. Bob has taken an active stance on the issue and has already tabled two Early Day Motions calling for action to proscribe Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as an organisation which supports terrorism across the region.
