On 10th September, Bob attended the Lohana community celebrations of the ennoblement of Lord Dolar Popat. Dolar Popat is the first Hindi Conservative member of the House of Lords and has been active in the local community ever sicne arriving from Uganda. Dolar is well-known for his work supporting local charities. Bob gave a speech on behalf of the Conservative Party congratulating Dolar on his well deserved new position.
Bob said, “I am very pleased that Dolar has received this well deserved honour. This is a clear demonstration that people who work hard and give political commitment are given political advancement in the Conservative Party. The Conservatives are the natural home for all people who originate from the Indian sub-continent. We share all the same values of hard work, belief in the rule of law, promoting the extended family, education and standing on our own two feet without taking money from the State.”
