As the holiday period approaches and Harrow prepares for Christmas, I hope that you will be able to take the opportunity to spend time with your loved ones, family and friends. Please celebrate the season and reflect on the year gone by.
Harrow remains one of the most diverse and cultural places in the world, this year already I have celebrated festivities involving Christians, Hindus, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists and Sikhs, What makes Harrow so distinctive is that everyone joins together in the festive spirit, whatever their background.
This is also a time to pay a special tribute to all those who continue to work throughout the borough and the country while the rest of us relax and enjoy the festivities: members of the armed forces on active service, employees of the emergency services, health workers, utility workers and transport staff to name but a few.
Harrow is, and continues to be, a great place to live. There are many challenges ahead and problems still to resolve, my task is to ensure that Harrow receives a fair deal from Government.
I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy, peaceful, prosperous and healthy New Year.
