Justice for Equitable Life Policyholders Reception

In his role as Co-Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Justice for Equitable Life Policyholders, Bob hosted a reception in partnership with the Equitable Members' Action Group (EMAG), marking more than eight years since the Parliamentary Ombudsman found there had been a decade of maladministration and recommended that compensation should be paid to put victims back in the position they would have been in had it not occurred. National Day of Nepal 2016

Bob attended a grand recepion at the Embassy of Nepal to celebrate the National Day of Nepal, which marks the proclamation of the country's constitution. The Charge d'Affaires, Mr. Sharad Raj Aran, emphasised the long and historic relationship between Nepal and the UK and recalled the support given last year following the devastating earthquake in Nepal which killed 9,000 and injured 22,000 people.

William Hill Charity Bet

After visiting one of our local William Hill betting shops to place a charity bet during the UEFA Euros 2016, Bob was able to return to donate his original stake of £50 to his chosen charity, St Luke's Hospice in Harrow.

Battle of Britain Service of Thanksgiving

Following on with the tradition of the Borough’s Battle of Britain Thanksgiving Service, Bob attended the service at St John's once again to commemorate the battle and remember those who lost their lives in World War 2. He was joined by local Councillors including Cllr Pritesh Patel, Cllr Kanti Rabadia and Cllr Ameet Jogia (pictured left to right).

Paddy Power Charity Bet

Bob visited a local Paddy Power shop to meet local staff and discuss the work being done by the company to encourage responsible gambling. He was also able to place a £25 charity bet, so naturally went for Spurs to beat Sunderland AFC.

Onam Feast Festival

Onam is the most important festival of the Indian State of Kerala and a celebration took place in Parliament to mark the occasion. Bob was invited to join in with the event, which was hosted by Kerala Link, a leading community Newspaper in the UK, together with the Kerala Business Forum and the British South India Business Council. Report Launch on Green Belt Protection

Bob was invited to speak at an event held by the London Green Belt Council and the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE) Metropolitan branches to launch their report entited 'The London Metropolitan Green Belt: “Safe Under Us”?', which was an investigation into potential threats from housebuilding in the London Metropolitan Green Belt. Bob reflected on the work of the Communities and Local Government Select Committee and the way forward for protecting the Green Belt in London generally.
