Bob celebrated the Indian winter harvest festival of Lohri with the communities from Jammu & Kashmir with the ceremonial bonfire and drumbeats along with traditional songs from the region. The programme was organised by the Voice of Dogras, who presented Bob the image of the Clock Tower of Old Jammu City, India.

Dinner and Discussion with the Palmerston Society

Harrow School's Palmerston Society kindly invited Bob to join them for dinner and discussion on political subjects of the day. The society, which is named after the Old Harrovian and 19th century Prime Minister, Henry John Temple 3rd Viscount Palmerston, and which is run by their 6th Form boys, has previously held events with Lord Michael Howard, Lord Robin Butler, Shami Chakrabarti and Natalie Bennett.

Conservative Friends of Cyprus New Year's Reception

Bob enjoyed attending the Conservative Friends of Cyprus New Year's Reception and 'Vasilopita' cutting ceremony.The cutting of the 'Vasilopita' is an annual Cypriot tradition to bless and bring good fortune for the year ahead. Whilst Cypriot families and communities across the UK mark this occasion, this was the first occasion it was marked in Parliament.

Visit to Stanmore Delivery Office

Bob made his annual visit to the Stanmore Delivery Office to thank local postmen and women for their hard work during Royal Mail’s busiest period. He was shown around the office by Delivery Office Manager, Derek Squires, and was introduced to the postmen and women, who are pulling out all the stops to sort and deliver mail in the Harrow East area over the Christmas period. Conservative Friends of Bangladesh 10th Anniversary Dinner

As Vice Chair of the Conservative Friends of Bangladesh, Bob was delighted to attend their 10th Anniversary Dinner at the Copthorne Tara Hotel and to speak about the importance of continued strong relations between our contries.CFoB is a member led organisation ahich aims to promote the culture, successes and values of British Bangladeshi community, as well as working towards closer relations between the Conservative Party and the British Bangladeshi community as a whole.

Mitzvah Day 2016

A Mitzvah is a Jewish term used to mean a good deed or an act of kindness. Stanmore Synagogue saw its busiest annual Mitzvah Day yet and Bob was happy to lend a hand in the operation to chop and peel vegetables to make soup for local charity Firm Foundation to distribute. Bob also paid a visit to Belmont United Synagogue to wish them well in their Mitzvah events.

AJEX Parade at the Cenotaph 2016

Every year, AJEX (Association of Jewish Ex-Servicemen and Women) hold a Parade and Remembrance Ceremony at the Cenotaph on Whitehall to honour Jewish service personnel who died in in the Second World War. The event also services to highlight their ongoing work supporting ex-service personnel and their families who find themselves in difficulty. Bob attended the parade once again this year alongside Rabbi Lew and a group from Stanmore Synagogue.
