Mrs India UK Grand Finale 2017

Bob was happy to take part as Guest of Honour for the Mrs India UK Grand Finale this year, supporting this annual Beauty Pageant which aims to support the talents and ambitions of Indian married women. This year's winner was Prad Punekar, and the event took place in partnership with Zee TV, Sapnay, the East London Beauty Academy, Enfield Riders, Nikaza and also included an awareness drive on allergies, on behalf of the Nainika Tikoo Memorial Foundation.

Baby Loss Awareness Week 2017

Almost 40 charities working on baby and child issues, the All Party Parliamentary Group on Baby Loss, partner organisations, health professionals, as well as countless parents and families supported Baby Loss Awareness Week, both in the UK and across the world. Bob showed his support by attending a reception to support awareness of the emotional impact of such a loss and also to highlight the work of bereavement care services in the aftermath.

World Tourism Day

In his capacity as Chair of the APPG for British Hindus, Bob hosted an event in partnership with the Sanskruti Centre for Cultural Excellence to celebrate World Tourism Day. The 'Save Girls, Educate Girls' Campaign

Bharulata Kamble, who recently completed a solo car journey across 32 countries and the Arctic circle, invited Bob to join her at an event in Parliament in aid of the 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' campaign, which translates as 'Save Girls, Educate Girls', to spread the message of female empowerment and education.The campaign was initiated by the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, in an effort to end the gender-selective abortion of female foetuses. Bob had a meeting with Dara Foody (pictured) and his colleagues from the Harrow Youth Parliament for an update on their activies and to engage with their views on school budgets, votes at 16, and the curriculum for life. Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam Awards

Bob hosted the first ever Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, relating to the philosophy that 'the world we live in is one big family', in Parliament in collaboration with the founder of the International Siddhashram Shakti Centre UK, HH Shri Rajrajeshwar Guruji. 32 awards were presented to people who have been outstanding ambassadors of peace in their communities, including Jain faith leader HH Achariya Dr Lokesh Muni and the Harrow Police Borough Commander Simon Owen.
