CLG Committee visit to Exeter and Torbay

In his capacity as a member of the Communities and Local Government Select Committee Bob visited Exeter and Torbay for the Localism Inquiry. Starting the day with an early morning train from Paddington at 8:45am, Bob met with Devon County Council; Torbay Coast and Countryside Trust; Exeter Council for Voluntary Services and a number of voluntary sector organisations dealing with issues spanning from climate change to homelessness. On Friday 21st January, Bob Blackman MP has officially opened a wheelchair hiring facility at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital.   Wheels 4 Ease, which is operated by the Friends of the RNOH, offers short-term wheelchair hire for local users and local patients of the RNOH.

Bentley Wood Students Visit Westminster

On Tuesday 18th January, Bob Blackman welcomed a contingent of students from Bentley Wood School to the House of Commons. Bob Blackman paid a visit to Aylward Primary School to meet the staff, the School Council and see the new facility for autistic children.Bob discussed the success of the school academically and on the sporting field with staff and the children.
