On 18th September, Bob attended the Ashiana Celebrations at their centre adjacent to Harrow Leisure Centre. Bob took part in a question and answer session with the parents and students after the entertainment.

Lions Club

On 17th September, Bob attended the Lions Club charity dinner at the Premier Banqueting Hall. Bob saw the famous “Honey’s Dancing School” perform and acted as one of the judges in the dancing contest.

Stanburn School

On 17th September, Bob visited Stanburn School to meet the Headteacher, Chairman of Governors and other governors to discuss the complaints from neighbours of the school about noise levels. Bob toured the school, witnessed play time on the school fields and suggested an open meeting for the neighbours to meet the staff and governors.

On 17th September, Bob visited Harrow College to meet Tony Medhurst the Principal of the College to talk about the future of the College and the development programme.

Battle of Britain Service

Bob attended the annual service commemorating the Battle of Britain at St. John’s Church in Stanmore. This was the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain. Bob said, “I was pleased to be able to attend and pay my respects to the brave men of Fighter Command. The ‘few’ defended our island and prevented the threatened German invasion. We must never forget the immense courage of these pilots who defied overwhelming odds to keep us free.”

St. Anselm's Church

On 11th September, Bob attended a social event at St. Anselm’s Church to welcome a visiting party from Germany.  The programme featured a number of songs, recitals and a modern pantomime, all presented by members of the congregation. Bob said, “As we commemorate the Battle of Britain, this was an ideal opportunity to help build reconciliation amongst the people of Belmont and visitors from Germany.”

Dolar Popat’s celebration

On 10th September, Bob attended the Lohana community celebrations of the ennoblement of Lord Dolar Popat.  Dolar Popat is the first Hindi Conservative member of the House of Lords and has been active in the local community ever sicne arriving from Uganda. Dolar is well-known for his work supporting local charities. Bob gave a speech on behalf of the Conservative Party congratulating Dolar on his well deserved new position.
