At Business questions, Bob asked that, in a few weeks’ time, London will play host to the Olympics and Paralympics, which we will all celebrate. During the games, it will be the 40th anniversary of the Olympics’ darkest hour when, in 1972, 11 members of the Israeli team were brutally murdered. So far, the Olympic movement has failed to honour their memory or provide closure for their families. Bob asked for a statement to be made to the House on this matter. There is widespread support across the House for a one-minute silence to be held during the games to commemorate those who were murdered.
